The Artist Summary In English
The Story ‘The Artist‘ has been written by Shiga Naoya. He was born in Japan. He is a short story Japanese writer. This story shows, how is the talent of young ones crushed by adult one.
After this incident his father crushes all the gourds & beats him badly. The teacher gives the gourds to the porter of that school. The porter sells at 50 sen to a curio-dealer & the curio-dealer sells the gourds to a wealthy collector at 600 sen.
In this story, Shiga narrates a story of a 12 years old Japanese boy, Seibei. He is fond of collecting gourds. He studies in a primary school’ He likes an even & symmetrical gourds. One day, he buys a five inch long gourds at 10 sen from an old lady. He is caught by his ethics teacher in the class & he complains to his mother strongly.
At last, Seibei starts making the pictures of gourds but his father scoldshim for this also. Thus this story shows ,how is the talent of a boy, Seibei crushed by his father means adult one.

“The Artist” Shiga Naoya के द्वारा लिखा गया है। इनका जन्म 1883 ई० में जापान में हुआ था। वे एक जापानी कहानीकार हैं। यह कहानी दिखाता है कि कैसे वे एक युवा लड़के के प्रतिभा को बड़ों को द्वारा कुचल दिया जाता है।
इस कहानी Shiga ने एक 12 वर्षीय सीबे नाम जापानी लड़के को वर्णन किया है। उसे gourds (एक प्रकार का फल) जमा करने का शौक रहता है। वह एक प्राथमिक विद्यालय में पढ़ता है। उसे समतलीय तथा सुडौल gourds पसन्द आता है। एक दिन वह एक वृद्ध महिला से 10 जेन में 5 इंच लम्बा gourds खरीदता है।
उससे माँ से उसकी शिकायत कर देते हैं। इस घटना के बाद उसके पिता ने सारे जमा किए gourds को कुचल दिया तथा उसे बुरी तरह से पिट देते हैं। वह अध्यापक उस gourds को उसी स्कुल के एक चपरासी (Porter) को दे देता है। वह चपरासी उस हवनतक को एक कलाकृति (Curio-dealers) कलेक्टर (Wealth collector) को 600 येन में बेच देता है।
अंतत: सीबे gourds का चित्र बनाने लगा लेकिन उसके पिता ने इसके लिए भी उसे डाँटा। इस प्रकार यह कहानी दिखाती है ‘कैसे सीबे के प्रतिभा को उसके पिता ने मतलब एक बड़े के द्वारा कुचल दिया जाता है।
