The essay ‘Indian Civilization & Culture’ has been written by mahatma Gandhi He was Born on 2nd October 1869 in india. He was more a spiritual reader than a politician. Gandhiji followed truth & non violence., My experiments with truth, is an autobiography of Gandhiji.

In this essay’ Gandhi shows that all civilizations are good but Indian civilization is better than all. Civilization teaches us to be more friendly towards others. pharaohs are the rulers of ancient Egypt. He says that mind is a restress bird because the more it gets the more it wants’ our happiness is mental condition.

Our forefathers did not invent machinery because we would become slave & lose our moral fibre. Our ancestors enjoyed true home rule. He says that western civilization is the, worship of material. The people of Europe learnt their lessons from Greece & Rome. Attic civilization is in Greece. Ganghiji says that Indian glory is immovabre.

At last’ he says that he is not a hater of western civilization because it suits on western people’ it doesn’t suit on us. European civilization will mean ruin for India. ‘Plain, simple riving & high thinking, is a motto of western philosopher & base of Indian civilization. Such a great spiritual leader died in 1948.

“Indian Civilization & Culture” महात्मा गाँधी के द्वारा लिखा गया है। उनका जन्म 2 अक्टुबर 1869 को भारत में हुआ था। वे एक राजनीतिक से ज्यादा अध्यात्मिक नेता थे। गाँधी जी सत्य तथा अहिंसा के पुजारी थे। ‘My Exeperiments with truth‘ गाँधी जी की आत्मकथा है।

इस निबंध में, गाँधी जी बताते हैं, कि सभी सभ्यताओं में भारतीय सभ्यता श्रेष्ठ है। सभ्यता हमलोगों को दुसरों के प्रति मैत्रीपूर्ण होना सिखाती है ‘ Pharaohs’ (मिस्त्र के शाशक) प्राचीन मिस्त्र के शाशक थे। वे कहते हैं कि मस्तिष्क एक बेचैन चिड़ियाँ है क्योंकि इसे जितना ही मिलता है वो उतना ही ज्यादा चाहता हैं हमारी खुशी मानसीक अवस्था है।

हमारे पूर्वजों ने मशीनों का खोज नहीं किया था क्योंकि वे जानते थे, कि हमलोग उसके गुलाम हो जाएगें तथा अपनी नैतिकता को खो देगें। हमारे पूर्वजों ने true home rule का आनंद लिया। वे कहते हैं कि पश्चिमी सभ्यता ‘वस्तु पुजा’ मात्र है। युरोप के लोगों ने अपना पाठ ग्रीस और रोम से सीखा है गाँधीजी कहते हैं कि भारतीय वैभव स्थिर है।

अतः वे कहते है, कि वे पश्चिमी सभ्यता से घृणा नहीं करते हैं। क्योंकि यह उनलोगों पर अच्छा लगता है, हमलोगों पर नहीं। युरोपीय सभ्यता का मतलब भारत के लिए बर्बादी है। ‘सादा जीवन और उच्च विचार’ यह पश्चिमी विचारक का सोच था और भारतीय सभ्यता का आधार है। ऐसे महान आध्यात्मिक नेता की मृत्यु 1948 ई० में हो गयी।

However he stresses the amalgamation of what is best in the western civilization with the Indian civilization. According to him, civilization is that mode of conduct which guides one to the path of duty. It reveals the fact that one has, a just and a moral character. Indian civilization is the most ancient, and the longest surviving of all the civilizations of the world.

It professes the principle of ‘Live and Let Live’. Simple living and high thinking is its motto. It promotes moral elevation, self-contentment renunciation and real happiness in man. It has belief in spiritualism unlike the western civilization that promotes material pleasure and rejects the existence of God.

हमारी सभ्यता हमारी आवश्यकताओं और हमारे पर्यावरण पर आधारित है। इसलिए, यूरोपीय सभ्यता का अंधानुकरण आत्मघाती है। भारतीय सभ्यता के उच्च आदर्शों का पालन करना प्रत्येक भारतीय का कर्तव्य है
